WHAT IS OSTEOPATHY?
A whole body approach to health
Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment that aims to correct imbalances in certain structures of the body. Using a variety of techniques, including gentle manipulation, massage and stretching it helps to restore balance and encourage the healing process.
GENERAL OSTEOPATHY & WELL-BEING
Musculoskeletal conditions, problems with the muscle, bones, joints and associated tissues are a major contributing factor to pain and can negatively impact your quality of life.
Habitual poor posture can contribute to daily aches, discomfort in the work place and beyond. Whether you work at a desk or have a more manual occupation, your life may expose you to stress and strains that can cause you pain.
Osteopathic treatment can help to prevent and relieve daily pain and aches.
SPORTS & REHABILITATION
It is common to feel some minor discomfort after training, as the body takes a little time to recover and adapt to the demands of your activities. Soreness often quickly resolves itself, but occasionally it may persist for more than a few days or make it difficult for you to continue your normal activities. In these instances, osteopathy can help you prevent, recover and maintain the best of health.
WOMEN & PREGNANCY
During life the body of a woman undergoes incredible changes especially during pregnancy and menopause. Those changes can disturb the balance of the body and create pain and discomfort. Osteopathy can help restore balance and manage transitions with the use of gentle and specific treatments.
FROM BABYÂ TO TEENAGER
Every parent’s priority is to provide the best environment to support their child’s health as they develop and grow.
Children’s requirements differ depending on the stage of their development. As they grow from infant to toddler, child to teenager, the individual needs, age and stage of development of your child will be taken into consideration to provide the best advice and treatment.
AGEING
Most of us get grey hair and wrinkles as we get older. In the same way it is normal for our muscles, bones, joint and associated tissues to change as we age.Â
Ageing does not mean that we will experience more pain or stiffness. However if it does become a problem, people often find that osteopathy is a good complement to GP care such as keeping active and preventing problems like falls and management of conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatic pain and osteoporosis.
